Understanding Recognition Rights.

Did you know it is the employer who chooses which trade unions they recognise?

Interesting, if you are the cynical type, you might think "why would any employer want to recognise a union who would challenge them and push them to improve your working conditions?" I am guessing they would prefer a union they can pay lip service to whilst pushing through their own agenda?
The employer will then only negotiate with that recognised trade union on your terms and conditions, like pay, pension and safe systems of work.

The mark of a successful trade union is one who can use those recognition rights to secure decent year on year pay awards, improved pension provisions and improved safety levels for its members. If your trade union is achieving this you are probably in the right trade union for you.

For any workers, in the criminal justice system, who are not satisfied with what has been achieved for them over the years, you have a choice! Stay, paying a high price for what may be considered little return or exercise your democratic right to choose who you want to trust with your future.
A great man once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." That man was Albert Einstein!

The Criminal Justice Worker Union family is here if you want to exercise that right of choice. What do you have to lose?
